Ethereal Brand Lead Free Glass Crystals as Table "Scatter" Crystals
The picture at left shows our own fine glass Ethereal crystals (with two linking holes) used as scatter crystals. Notice only the sparkle and that the 2 holes in these loose octagons are barely evident when scattered. We do not sell these with 2 holes loose, however, you can special order them with NO HOLES, specifically made as scatter crystals.
For Even More Amazing Sparkle, go with Swarovski Octagons as "Scatter"
All of the rest (even our own Ethereal crystals shown here at left) must bow-down to the Swarovski crystals. Our lead free Swarovski octagons sold below (with two holes) have more facets than the diamond cut Swarovski Strass crystals (sold as scatter crystals) and without the lead. This also means they are less fragile than the Strass lead diamond cut crystals. Lead makes crystal heavier and also more brittle which means less chip resistance. More info on "scatter" crystal can be found beneath the crystals sold below.
Swarovski Crystals Used as Scatter Around the Famous Crystal Tree in Brides Magazine
The tiny linking holes don't matter at all. In fact, as proof of that point, the same Swarovski crystals in 26mm size (with 2 holes) were used as "scatter" around the Famous Crystal Tree seen in Brides magazine. When sprinkled about the table, you notice the amazing sparkle, not the tiny holes. The holes are really not very noticeable unless unless you pick the crystals up to examine them. You can also order them with 1 hole. We charge slightly more for the 1 holes since most people purchase the 2 hole cystals.
We recommend using any "scatter" far from dining plates for liability reasons. Swarovski does not recommend any of their crystals for scattering around places where food is involved. Any brand of loose (not hanging) crystals could end up on a plate, chip a tooth or cause choking. If you use scatter crystals, whether glass, acrylic plastic, Strass lead crystals or crystals of any type, use caution and place them as far from plates as possible or use them to decorate tables that are not dining tables.
The Crystals of the World ... Bow-Down to Swarovski
Fine Swarovski Crystals are fantastic wedding crystals, event or party crystals, as well as elegant home decor. Sought after around the world by design professionals from interior decorators creating lavish crystal room dividers, to event planners, florists and brides with visions of breathtaking crystals hanging from centerpieces to ceilings, Swarovki raises the bar on "bling". There is nothing more "diamond-like" in the crystals world. Use them for draping a fantastic installation such as a 7' crystal wedding tree and they take the finished result from pretty to breathtaking. It's more than hype and it's not the difference between Coke & Pepsi; crystal experts unanimously agree: all the other crystals must bow-down to Swarovski. There is nothing else like it in the world.
How to Decorate with Loose Crystals
Use these fine individual crystals in the most elegant shapes to attach to the ends of our crystal chains or use them alone. Hang some from tree branches along a pathway, hang some from centerpieces, table decorations, chairbacks, candelabras or attach them to ribbon as napkin rings. Favored by the Pros, our Swarovski Lead Free Crystal loose pieces make unrivaled wedding crystals for Platinum Quality events. When you buy Swarovski crystals in full box quantities, you will receive them in the genuine, Swarovski branded box. The extra large size loose crystals make fantastic chuppa, mandap, gazebo and arch decoration crystals. Hang some overhead from clear monofilament chord or ribbon, attach some live orchids to the chord and you have a stunning backdrop or focal area for ceremonies. They also make wonderful favor gifts for guests after the event. What Does "MM" in Crystal Descriptions Mean?
Crystals are sold in mm sizes. MM size refers to the length of the crystal in most cases, depending on the shape of the crystal.
For octagon shape or round shapes, the mm size given is both the width and length of the crystal. For Teardrop shaped crystals or Almond shapes which are longer than they are wide, the mm size is referring to the longest dimension of the crystal from top to bottom.
The pink chart shown here, approximates what some common crystal millimeter sizes are similar to. To see in front of you, what each mm size looks like, you can get a coin from your wallet or purse. You can also look at each product description and you will see the mm size broken down into fractions of an inch. For example, 14mm products also state that they are .55" inches. This means that 16mm is the same as .55" on a ruler. Look at a ruler at the 1/2" inch mark and note that 14mm is .05" of an inch larger than 1/2" an inch wide.
If Linking Your Own Chains, How Many Crystals Will You Need?
You can estimate how many loose crystals you will need by taking out a U.S. coin in a size similar to the crystal size you choose (see pink chart above and also the product descriptions). Lay the coin on a standard inches ruler. Leave a little space in between each coin, representing the connector which will hold the chain together. When you get to 12", this is an approximation of how many crystals you will need, per 1' foot length of crystal rope or chain.
The exact number will vary a little, depending on what size and type connector is being used, but if you use this measurment, you should have enough, no matter what link you use. If you don't have U.S. coins, use the fractions of an ich measurement given for each crystal size in the product description. Measure it on a ruler. |
