(after purchasing a small sample order first) our Ethereal crystal chains and our Swarovski crystal chains as well, were chosen for and featured on a segment of the popular Platinum Weddings TV show
on We tv.
Although the real life presentation of firey crystals in beautiful lighting is far better than can be seen on film, we must say that it was pretty fantastic.
If you've ever watched the show
(and we know you have if you are getting married or if you are a major event planner), nothing
rinky dink or cheap looking makes the cut.
No tulle, fold up tissue bells or plastic champagne glass favors filled with stale Jordan Almonds. It's custom linens and overlays, Sushi stations, live bands, custom lounge furniture, signature drinks, monogrammed everything ... and fine crystals that
bring it. The sparkle, that is. It's a
so-so free zone. The
minimum wedding budget even considered to air on the show is $350,000 and up. The typical wedding on the show is much higher. The episode features predominately our Ethereal crystal chains and Teardrops and also a smaller proportionate amount of our Swarovski crystal chains were also mixed in.
We were the manufacturer of the crystal chains used for thr reception at this stunning,
nearly 1/2 million dollar wedding (gulp!) and we have the emails from the bride and groom, photos and invoices to prove it. Some items shown during various parts of the wedding that are not crystals such as were used for the cocktail hour, were specially ordered from other suppliers. The crystal chains used on the reception guest table trees were all manufactured by us.
Our fine Ethereal crystal strands or chains were used (in different elements in the wedding reception decor) as well as our Swarovski crystal chains for this tented, white draped wedding with crystal centerpiece trees that was just stunning.
If it is genuine
Swarovski Austrian Crystal chains, strands or garlands, the seller always makes that clear since they are known as the best in the world; better than regular Austrian Crystal. If the seller is mentioning Swarovski, but not using the word Swarovski in the actual product name that ends up on your receipt, (not
Leaded or
Austrian or
Swarovski-like or Swarovski-ish), you can be sure it is not Swarovski. Order in sufficient quantities and we can send them in the genuine Swarovski branded boxes that the crystals originally come in.
The Sparkle ... Is it Live or Animation? You Know When it's Real.
Fake sparkle usually looks oddly uniform and each flash looks "timed" instead of spontaneous and unique. Each faux "sparkle" tends to look the same; like little 5 or 6 pointed stars that only change in size. These little stars "sit" right on the object in the photograph and if they are animated, they move even if the object in question doesn't move. These are usually computer animations or Gifs added to a photograph.
"Flat" sparkle does not move on the object or "flash" on the photograph is the same as described above. You can usually tell that it is sitting on top of the crystal or diamond instead of coming FROM it or flashing THROUGH it as in our photograph on this page. Look at the Tiffany blue branches near the top of this page with the insanely sparkling crystals hanging from it. Because it is real, it is very hard to duplicate it unnaturally, especially the lines shooting through and behind the crystals. That's not easy to replicate.
Real sparkle? You know it when you see it.
Artificial sparkle that is an animation, (not part of the photograoh) also shows up well on a white webpage background or image background, whereas real sparkle generally does not flash brightly against white backdrops. Lovely crystals do flash well in a white room if the lighting is good, but not will not show up as well in a photograph or video as it does in person. On a white background, it is nearly impossible to capture it's essence on film.
We back our photos up with video so that you know it was created by crystals and good light. As you can see,from our videos, the sparkle you see in the photo didn't come from Photoshop work. It came from the Swarovski crystals and good lighting. Lousy crystals won't do that even if you point a 1000 watt flood light at them. You would simply get a glaringly HARSH, lack-luster result instead of a soft, lack-luster result.
What Does "MM" in Crystal Descriptions Mean?
Crystals are sold in mm sizes. MM size refers to the length of the crystal in most cases, depending on the shape of the crystal.
For octagon shape or round shapes, the mm size given is both the width and length of the crystal. For Teardrop shaped crystals or Almond shapes which are longer than they are wide, the mm size is referring to the longest dimension of the crystal from top to bottom.
The pink chart shown here, approximates what some common crystal millimeter sizes are similar to.
To see in front of you, what each mm size looks like, you can get a coin from your wallet or purse. You can also look at each product description and you will see the mm size broken down into fractions of an inch. For example, 14mm products also state that they are .55" inches. This means that 16mm is the same as .55" on a ruler. Look at a ruler at the 1/2" inch mark and note that 14mm is .05" of an inch larger than 1/2" an inch wide.

Are the Crystals Clear or Colored? The picture and video above show colorless, CLEAR Swarovski Lead Free crystal chains / garlands / strands (all are the same thing). What looks like "color" is actual,
natural rainbows formed by it's glamorous sparkle. No "Aurora Borealis AB plastic coating (commonly used on cheaper glass crystals and plastic acrylic "crystals" to "mimic" rainbows they're not making).

If hanging crystal ropes over tree branches, 1' ropes are better to use since you can adjust the length easily for a custom length. If looping yard long chains over a branch, at the top where the crystal chain must bend in order to hang down the other side, you have a crystal laying on the top of the branch.
At left, you see a picture of our 1' Swarovski crystal ropes. They are attached hanging straight down, hooked by the top hook, directly to the branch.
In addition to being messier, doubling crystal ropes over one side of a branch and down the other side causes crystals to be facing one way on one side and facing the other way on the way down. For 2' ropes, hook two of our one foot ropes to another 2' rope in literally 2 seconds. You can do the same to make long, 6' ropes strands or ropes.
As you can see, the swarovski crystals are stunningly beautiful. The good thing about high quality crystal garlandss like this is that they look amazing even in mediocre lighting. Good lighting just makes them look even better, taking them to another level.
Chains with Bow-Tie Connectors and Diamond Cut Crystals (any connector) Looping long garlands of crystal over branches is especially bad if your chains or ropes use bow-tie connectors which look far different from the front than from the back.
You want the front of the bow-tie facing OUT, not in. This means you would have to actually separate the 3' or a 1 yard rope into two in order to have the crystals all facing the right way.
If you are using crystals that are pointed on the back and flat on the front (diamond shaped), this is also not good.
The crystals on one side would look fine and once looped over, coming down the back, they would be backwards.
Diamond cut crystal strands are supposed to be used with the flat side out and the point in, funneling the light up and out through the flat front of the crystal. Better to hang each chain straight down. Use either one, 1' strand or hook two together in 1 second and you have a two foot rope; perfect for 6' and even 7' trees as you see on our huge 7' foot tree with thousands of crystals at the top of this page.
